JIIC awards contracts for 150 homes, marina

UAE-based Jubail Island Investment Company (JIIC) has awarded two major contracts worth a total of AED260 million ($71 million) for construction works on its Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi.

Under a contract worth AED220 million, the company has appointed the Middle East unit of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) as the contractor for the construction of townhouses within the premium community at Souk Al Jubail on Jubail Island. The second contract valued at AED40 million went to Al Dhafra Pipeline & Contracting Company (APCC) for the construction of a new 66-berth marina in Marfa Al Jubail.

Souk Al Jubail is located in the heart of the AED10-billion Jubail Island, a project owned by JIIC and developed and managed by LEAD, which will be home to an idyllic collection of six residential village estates located between Yas Island and Saadiyat Island.

Souk Al Jubail comprises a series of walkable residential neighbourhoods, amphitheatre, plazas and green spaces with playgrounds, nestled amid the natural beauty and rich biodiversity of the mangroves.

The 150 townhouses at Souk Al Jubail will feature elegant and premium designs and range in size from two-  to four-bedroom units in a laidback, tranquil and contented setting, stated the developer.

The townhouses are due to be completed in April 2024.

Meanwhile, Al Dhafra Pipeline & Contracting Company (APCC) is expected to complete the marina in mid-2023. It will be responsible for the construction of the quay wall and associated infrastructure along the marina’s edges and platforms.

According to JIIC, the marina is being built as part of the grand Marina District within Marfa Al Jubail. The waterfront district’s concept and schematic design are in progress with AE7, the renowned design consultant.

The district within Marfa Al Jubail, set to launch in October, will consist of 41 elegantly designed townhouses and 18 spacious apartments, located in one building block, amid some of the UAE’s most beautiful landscapes and surrounded by mangroves and wildlife.

As well as luxury residential space, Marfa Al Jubail will offer unrivalled amenities, anchored by a luxury yacht club complex and boardwalk containing restaurants, alfresco cafés, and eateries.
