Saudi-based East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry, a state-of-the-art manufacturer of helical submerged arc welded (HSAW) pipes, has secured key contracts this year worth a total of SR1.31 billion ($348.8 million) from Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) for the supply of steel pipes for the kingdom’s water transmission projects.
Its latest order was worth SR324 million for the manufacture and supply of steel pipes within the next seven months to help boost the efficiency of kingdom’s water network, said East Pipes Integrated Company in its filing to Saudi bourse Tadawul last month.
This contract win comes close on the heels of two similar orders from SWCC this year valued at a total of SR987 million – a SR490 million contract and a SR497 million ($132 million) deal – for supply of its steel pipes over the period of one year.
East Pipes has been supplying pipes for SWCC’s projects, in diameters up to 100 inches and extending over more than 2,000 km. The company says it also has a “superfast delivery plan” in place for Neom city in northwestern Saudi Arabia.
Founded in 2010 in Dammam in the kingdom’s Eastern Province, East Pipes Integrated Company has become a major manufacturer of spiral steel pipes.
The company, which has a production capacity of 500,000 tons of pipes annually, presently offers HSAW pipes, used in transport, water, oil and gas and other sectors, in a wide range of diameters. This factory is located in Dammam Second Industrial City on an area of 223,000 sq m, which provides ample space for further expansion. The facility is supported by a double jointing unit, and a factory for coating pipes of various sizes and lengths, with an annual production capacity of 4.5 million sq m.
East Pipes states that it has also invested in the latest lab testing facilities to ensure that its products comply with the highest international standards in lengths of up to 18 m, with double jointed pipes measuring up to 26 m.
As a result of the company’s focus on business development and commitment, East Pipes says has successfully supplied to many projects for Saudi Aramco in the past years, apart from being a major supplier of HSAW pipes to SWCC and other clients.
