RMJM designs nonprofit city office buildings

01 May 2023

Global architectural network RMJM is working on the first group of Grade A office buildings within Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City (Misk City) in Riyadh.

The first non-profit city in the world being developed on a 3.4-sq-km area, it has a grand masterplan and will boast a residential cluster including 500 villas and townhouses, as well as 6,000 apartments with multiple floor plans that can accommodate nearly 18,000 residents.

RMJM said it had designed a distinctive Grade A office development in Misk City, located within the central Misk Forum district.

The precinct is situated in a prime location to attract global corporations to occupy Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City as their new headquarters for Saudi Arabia.

The cluster of three four-storey buildings is designed to provide a readily adaptive workplace offering a collaborative environment. Office lobbies are clustered around an open and shaded plaza with natural light on all facades overlooking the adjoining wadi, offering a unique workplace setting in Riyadh.

The Forum precinct will overlook the new Misk Foundation’s headquarters which is also due to start basement works, said David Henry, CEO of Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City.

Apart from premium views and accessibility to the various features of the city including walking trails to Wadi Hanifah, the Forum offices are adjoined by Al Mishraq Zone, a mixed-use development with a walkable urban environment hosting a range of retail, food and beverage, leisure and entertainment options.
