Geberit innovations receive accolades

European sanitary solutions provider Geberit has announced that two of its newly launched products – the CleanLine50 shower channel and Sigma70 actuator plate – have won the internationally renowned Red Dot Award 2023 in the “Product Design” category.

In addition, CleanLine50 also received the Design Plus ISH Innovation Award at this year’s ISH, a leading international trade fair for the sanitary industry held in Frankfurt, Germany.

“The new Geberit CleanLine50 shower channel convinces with its minimalist design. Being only three centimetres in width and having an asymmetrical drainage channel, it provides additional visual variety to the bathroom,” says Louise Pitt, Head of Marketing and Communication (Gulf Office) at Geberit International Sales.

“Its design clearly sets it apart from conventional shower channels and makes it stand out in modern bathrooms. The shower channel is made of high-quality materials and can be adjusted to the width of the shower area. These features convinced both the juries of the Red Dot Award and the Design Plus innovation prize powered by ISH,” she adds.

In addition to the visual appearance, the Red Dot Award jury also awarded prizes to the two colour variants of the shower channel, brushed stainless steel and black chrome.

The jury was also impressed by the shower channel’s proven technical features, Pitt points out. The Geberit CleanLine50 has an integrated slope that optimally drains the shower water to the drain. In addition, the shower channel includes a practical comb insert in the drain, which can be easily removed and quickly rinsed out.

Featuring a floating design, the Geberit Sigma70 actuator plate convinced the jury of the Red Dot Award because of its reduced design and variety of colours.

“Among other things, the jury recognised the elegant design of the actuator plate, which is underlined by the use of high-quality materials such as glass, stainless steel or aluminium. The Geberit Sigma70 actuator plate is characterised by its purist and frameless design. The slightly curved, convex shape emphasises its floating character. The actuator plate features two buttons for the water-saving dual flush. Despite having two separate buttons, the plate’s surface appears uniform and as if it was cast from a single mould,” she explains.

The globally active Geberit Group has a strong local presence in most European countries offering its expertise in sanitary technology as well as in the area of bathroom ceramics. Its manufacturing capacities comprise 26 production plants, four of which are overseas. The group headquarters is located in Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland. With approximately 12,000 employees in around 50 countries, Geberit achieved net sales of CHF3.4 billion ($3.78 billion) in 2022.
