Hansgrohe highlights sustainability focus

01 February 2024

Leading sanitaryware brands Axor and hansgrohe hosted a special event in Dubai for architects, interior designers, and developers from across the GCC region, showcasing their commitment to sustainability and meeting the growing demand in the residential, hospitality and leisure markets for water- and energy-saving solutions in the region.

Held at the brands’ Sheikh Zayed Road showroom, the event highlighted the Hansgrohe Group’s ambitious environmental goals, including a pledge to equip all its water-bearing products with water-saving technologies by 2030. By 2025, the group aims to convert 75 per cent of its overhead and hand-held showers to EcoSmart technology, reducing daily water consumption by up to 60 per cent.

Axor emphasised its contribution to a sustainable future through its focus on enduring design and build quality. The ultra-premium brand’s precision manufacturing allows for longer product warranties and spare part availability for 15 years – five more than the legal requirement – while minimising environmental impact through reduced replacement needs. As part of the Hansgrohe Group, Axor also adheres to science-based targets for all company operations.

The event showcased Hansgrohe’s holistic bathroom interior offerings, through its recent addition of ceramics collections. This includes hansgrohe’s eco-friendly EluPura toilet range which features an optimised interior geometry, enabling powerful flushing that consumes just 4.5 litres of water per flush; and the Xuniva wash basin collections which are constructed entirely from natural and recyclable materials.

Also showcased among the new collections was Axor Suite, a collaboration with world-leading designer Philippe Starck.

Other iconic collaborations with leading designers presented by Axor included ShowerComposition by Starck, and Axor One Shower Set and Axor Citterio Rhombic and E collections by Antonio Citterio. These collections of faucets, shower systems, and bathroom accessories illustrate Axor’s dedication to personalised bathroom experiences while aligning with strong environmental principles, which continue to hold wide appeal with leading hotels worldwide, says the group.

The Axor and hansgrohe brands are well-positioned to benefit from the growing GCC ceramics and sanitary ware market, projected to register a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than six per cent in the next five years, according to a Mordor Intelligence Report.

Representing the Hansgrohe Group at the event were Andrus Asavi, Director of Sales, Global Projects and Fawzy Tello, Regional Sales Manager, Middle East, along with the Dubai team.

Asavi comments: “We are thrilled to welcome our long-established network of architects, designers and developers, and are delighted to meet newcomers too. Listening to different opinions and insights from professionals who work in the design and delivery of major projects about how we can work together to conserve the precious resource of water is really important.  Through events like these we can gauge feedback on our collections and we can explain our vision for the future. The crucial issue of sustainability is progressive and evolving, and working with our partners and stakeholders we remain committed to being a consistent innovator.”

With its Axor and hansgrohe brands, the Germany-based Hansgrohe Group continues to solidify its position as a leader in innovation, design, and quality within the global bathroom and kitchen industry.
