Neom unveils luxury golf community, bridge resort

01 April 2024

Neom, the developer of Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city, announced two more strategic projects last month (March) for the mega regional development coming up in northwest Saudi Arabia.

The newly announced projects include Gidori, an exclusive private golf community set amidst the breathtaking coastal hills of the Gulf of Aqaba, and Treyam, a premier resort positioned where the spectacular desert landscape meets the sea.

Located along the Gulf of Aqaba coastline, Gidori will combine world-class golf and active leisure, encapsulated in an ultra-modern community for guests and residents.

Announcing the premium project, the Neom Board said the progressive architectural centrepiece is a beach-front complex with a spectacular cantilevered structure.

Rising from the coastal landscape, it will house 190 luxury sea-view apartments alongside a range of dining experiences, signature retail stores and garden spaces, it stated.

According to Neom, Gidori’s 18-hole championship golf course sweeps inland through low hills and rocky outcrops, challenging golfers at all levels and featuring innovative design, exquisite coastal views and advanced technology.

The elegant clubhouse will provide sophisticated hospitality for players, while the golf academy will offer expert advice and coaching and will service the traditional game and the next generation of e-sports.

Placed along the golf course is a limited series of 200 individually designed and highly desirable private villas and homes. Visitors to Gidori can also stay in the 80-room boutique luxury hotel, which provides a variety of uniquely designed rooms and distinctive contemporary suites, said the developer in its statement.

Treyam

Meanwhile, boasting an audacious design with minimal land intervention, Treyam offers guests an elevated haven in which to unwind, re-energise and enjoy majestic natural surroundings.

Located across the opening of one of the most beautiful, azure lagoons at the southern end of the Gulf of Aqaba, Treyam’s striking bridge-like architecture connects the northern and southern shores, hosting a 250-room luxury resort. The innovative façade of the bridge creates a sunset-like illusion from a distance. Its upper and lower floors offer panoramic views of the tidal lagoon below and vast skies above.

The visual splendour of Treyam will extend further, with a 450-m-long rooftop infinity pool. From this elevated vantage point 36 m above the sea, guests will be treated to an awe-inspiring experience, seemingly floating, with a breathtaking panoramic view of the lagoon, the vibrant corals and the tranquil waters.

The unveiling of these projects follow the recent announcements of sustainable tourism initiatives across the Gulf of Aqaba, namely Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana, Aquellum, Zardun, Xaynor and Elanan.
