Riyadh gears up to host smart city forum

01 July 2024

A major event bringing together globally renowned experts in the field of intelligent cities, urban planning and digitalisation will take place in Riyadh in November.

The Smart Riyadh Forum (SRF) 2024, taking place from November 25 to 27, will address key challenges faced in projects and share international best practices for ongoing and upcoming projects, said organisers.

The forum will bring together global leaders, visionaries, project stakeholders, tech innovators, and investors to discuss the digital transformation of the Saudi capital city. The event, themed “Digitally Transforming Riyadh to Host the World,” aims to prepare the capital for hosting Expo 2030. It will be hosted by International Business Exchange – IBEX.

The Smart Riyadh Forum 2024 will serve as a catalyst for the city’s transformation. At its core, the forum seeks to foster public-private partnerships across various sectors. This approach is designed to attract sustainable investments and drive the city's development forward.

More than 600 attendees are expected to participate in the three-day forum, which will feature over 60 speakers and panellists. The event will also showcase an innovation lab, expo, and a start-up launchpad, providing a platform for cutting-edge technologies and solutions.

A few projects in focus at the SRF 2024 include the Riyadh Expo 2030 site, New Murabba, Mohammed Bin Salman NonProfit City, King Salman Park, Sports Boulevard, Diriyah and King Salman International Airport.

The forum will host discussions on various sectors, including healthcare, education, real estate, tourism, sports, and entertainment. It aims to promote Riyadh as a leading destination for business, leisure, and innovation.

The event will provide networking opportunities and a chance for participants to sign memorandums of understanding and contracts.
