Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company and FTG Development have announced the groundbreaking of its premium $3-billion tourism and leisure development – Land of Legends Qatar – being set up on a 650,000-sq-m area within the Simaisma Project located 40 km north of capital Doha.
Land of Legends Qatar is the first major development within Simaisma Project, which spans 8 million sq m and stretches along a 7-km beach, said Qatari Diar.
Alongside the theme park, Simaisma will feature an 18-hole golf course, a luxury yacht marina, high-end residential villas and a variety of dining and retail options, thus establishing it as a premier leisure destination.
The landmark destination, which is set to transform tourism and entertainment in the region, is being jointly developed by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company and FTG Development, a major player in the mixed-use real estate and hospitality investments sector. It is expected to open by 2028.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and other senior officials including Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, Minister of Municipality and Chairman of Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company; Engineer Ali Mohamed Al Ali, the CEO of Qatari Diar and Fettah Tamince, Founder of FTG Development and President of Land of Legends.
Speaking on the occasion, Al Attiyah said: ”The project, which spans over 650,000 sq m, offers an unforgettable experience, taking visitors on an enchanting journey, across seven themed zones with multi unique themed attractions. Land of Legends Qatar invites guests to explore diverse landscapes, immersive experiences, and cultural marvels.”
Tamince said this destination was packed with delights for all ages, including the family-friendly Kingdom Hotel with conference facilities and beachside activities, and Music Hotel, a multicultural destination which hosts a futuristic celebration of the world’s music.
“From an 80-m-high mountain to boat parades along scenic canals and thrilling water adventures, every corner promises something extraordinary. Visitors can also enjoy luxurious villas and a world-class dining selection,” he stated.
