The UpRight AB62RT combines aerial agility and reach for work on multi-storey
structures, with rough terrain strength, according to its Ireland-based manufacturer.
UPRIGHT has introduced a new articulating boom which is claimed to conquer hard-to-get-at building niches and recessed areas while giving users even finer positioning control within the articulated boom working envelope.
The 20.9 m (68 ft) working height of UpRight AB62RT combines aerial agility and reach for work on multi-storey structures, with a hardy rough-terrain specification for powerful performance on rugged ground.
''Its aerial prowess comes from 10.7 m horizontal outreach at a 9.1 m pivot height, plus 1.9 m jib - pivoting above and below the upper boom - with 140 degree arch. Positioning versatility is augmented by 180 degree platform rotation and 360 degree continuous turret rotation, with zero tailswing,'' says Pam Penny, European marketing services manager of the Ireland-based UpRight International.
She continues: ''The AB62RT's dual parallelogram riser boom allows precision-controlled vertical movement and elevates vertically along building elevations with parallel lift and descent capability, bringing special advantages to window cleaning and facade maintenance. Full height is achieved in a quick 75 seconds and drive speed is 6.8 km/hr, because the UpRight multi-function proportional controls provide (via rheostat) smooth manipulation of all boom movements and functions.
''Four-wheel drive and oscillating axle are standard, providing 40 per cent gradeability for excellent rough-terrain performance, matching or exceeding that of any machine on the market. The AB62RT's stowed dimensions are a transport-friendly 2.5 m high by 8.2 m long by 2.3 m wide, and gross weight is a light 10,433 kg. The narrow chassis width allows the AB62RT to penetrate a greater number of restricted space areas.
''A 1 m by 1.8 m platform with 227 kg capacity provides plenty of workspace for two workers plus materials and equipment. The powerful Perkins 704-30 diesel engine is housed in a swing-out module for ease of access.''
Features of the AB62RT, according to Penny, include:
