Homag Holzbearbeitung-ssysteme, a leading German manufacturer of machines for the woodworking and furniture industry, says it has made highly successful inroads into the GCC market over the past five years.
"We wish to build on this success and show clients how they can improve their production capacity, increase the quality and reduce the costs of their products," says a spokesman for the group, which enfolds an umbrella of companies including Weeke Bohrsysteme, Brandt and Holzma.
The firm will be participating in the Ligna Plus Show - an international show for the timber and forestry industry - to be held in Hanover, Germany, from May 21 to 25.
Homag will display a large variety of its machines for the furniture business and industry including routers, processing centres, industrial edgebanding machines, machines for softforming and post forming and many other machines for the production of windows, stairs, doors and laminated flooring etc.
Its innovative machines, services and software solutions are said to have made the Homag Group a highly successful systems' partner to industrial manufacturers and cabinet shops the world over.
Its Optimat machines are said to have enjoyed popularity over a number of years.
Among its most successful machines is the new double-end tenoner of the Optimat range, the NFL 26. This machine has all the main features of an industrial and powerful double-end tenoner within the competitively-priced Optimat range, thus offering a fully-equipped machine at a reasonable price, says a company spokesman.

The Optimat concept has now been extended with further components from Weeke.
Weeke offers a CNC solution to suit individual requirements, increasing the clients' flexibility, and enabling him to react quickly to market requirements, and convince through quality and manufacturing precision, according to the spokesman.
"Weeke can tailor the machine to suit the customer's request. The machines are economical and flexible with highest processing security, incorporating some special features such as innovative workpiece clamping technology, simulation software to determine processing times and crash control and complete processing of parts in one clamping step.
Other machines offered by the group include the Optimat KD 56 from Brandt, which meets the market requirements for high-quality edge banding. It provides edge thickness from 0.4 to 3 mm.
The Optimat KD 67C offers edge thickness up to 8 mm and incorporates new contour trimming technology. Low on maintenance requirements, it features precisely dosed and leakproof direct glue application, electronic glue temperature control with integrated temperature reduction during extended working breaks.
Holzma panel cutting machines offer the latest technology in optimising proudction output while ensuring the highest degree of quality, says the spokesman.
Arab Technical Establishment's (ATE) Furniture Division which was set up in 1995, represents the group in the region.
