Aggreko plays key support role at hadeed

Aggreko Middle East, a division of the global power solutions provider Aggreko, recently concluded a temporary power project at the Saudi Iron and Steel Company (Hadeed), in Saudi Arabia.
During the tenure of the project, it supplied a 7.5 MVA power package to the largest steel producer in the Middle East.
Fayez Al-Jabri, chief electrical engineer of Hadeed, said that the base load power supplied by Aggreko had helped in maintaining critical services during the maintenance of the Saudi steel plant. "The temporary power that Aggreko was contracted to supply was used at three separate locations within the plant which is situated in Jubail, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia," he said.
Al-Jabri also said that it was an easy decision for the company to award this contract to Aggreko. "They have a large fleet of equipment that is fully supported through their local depots and met our needs, in an exacting manner. We have had a good experience with Aggreko earlier and were pleased to be using their service again."
Phil Burns, Aggreko regional manager - Middle East, said that the company was pleased to have been twice awarded a project of this size by Hadeed. "In 1998, we supplied a 9.5 MVA power package at 6.6 kV, when they had a fire at their plant. Aggreko always works towards long-term relationships with customers and combined with our operational strengths, this holds us in very good stead."
Hadeed , wholly owned by the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), is the first fully integrated steel producer in Saudi Arabia. Finished products include deformed and plain reinforcing bars in straight lengths and in coils.
