University Beton Readymix, known as Unibeton Readymix, supplied 48,000 cu m of readymix concrete to the Al Ain Mall project.
Among the challenges posed by the project was the restricted site which the company says it was able to tackle efficiently.
"The site provided limited access for the transit mixers and the concrete pumps,'' says a spokesman for the Abu Dhabi-based company.
He continues: ''A special Unibeton team had to be formed for planning and erecting the necessary equipment with appropriate measures to ensure that the target set by the contractor and the consultant was met without affecting the quality of casted concrete. We were fully prepared to fulfil the project's requirements round-the-clock during the construction period.''
The company says it is proud to have been associated with this prestigious project.
Unibeton Readymix, a division of Al Fara'a Group, was established in Al Ain in 1995 by a group of technocrats to effectively participate in the construction boom in UAE, according to the spokesman.
Its products meet British Standards and comply with Gulf requirements, particularly with UAE aspects and regulations.
The company has offices and laboratories in Abu Dhabi. It is equipped with fully-computerised batching plants, each with a production capacity of 120 cu m per hour and a daily output of 1,200 cu m during a normal 12-hour shift.
The company also has a fleet of 115 transit mixers, 25 concrete pumps supported by a fleet of trailers, water tankers and cement tankers.
From its inception to April this year, the company says it has supplied more than 2 million cu m of quality readymix concrete to various projects in Abu Dhabi.
"We are the only ISO-certified readymix company in the UAE supplying self-compacting concrete to various projects in Abu Dhabi," he says.
He continues: "ISO 9002 certification has been achieved through the constant efforts made by the management and employees to adhere to strict quality control standards.
"As a professional management team focused on achieving the best possible processes for the production of quality concrete in keeping with international standards of ISO 9002, we have realised the importance of research and development in the field.
''An R&D centre was therefore established to serve as a helpline to Unibeton in its day-to-day activities - to produce quality concrete with enhanced properties to ensure durability in the marine environment; to provide advisory services to clients at their sites; to eliminate deficiencies noticed during and after casting.
''The centre has been active locally and has been recognised by the local authorities and clients,'' he adds.
"To ensure the continued success of the company a more corporate approach to business has been adopted. All our operations are managed by highly qualified and experienced staff. Unibeton's technical personnel are recognised as masters of concrete technology, whose excellent teamwork had led to great achievements in the concrete industry," the spokesman comments.
