Japanese scaffolding system promoted

01 December 2001

Paschal Concrete Forms of Bahrain has launched a new Japanese scaffolding system on the market.

The scaffolding, from Nisso International Corporation, uses revolutionary technology to ensure flexible and safe operations, says a company spokesman.

"Nisso International is a part of Nisso Industries, which with five factories, seven warehouses and 36 offices, is one of the leading suppliers of scaffolding to the Japanese and Asian markets," he says. "Its main customers are shipbuilding and repair yards, civil construction companies which build bridges, buildings and power stations, and the oil industry."

Nisso's patented 3S Octagon series ring-type scaffolding system was developed in 1986, he says.

"Nisso standard vertical components allow for connections at 50-cm intervals, he says. "They have rings with eight holes, which allow eight connections with horizontal or vertical braces in different direction and angles. The ledgers have a wedge-lock system to ensure a very flexible, easy and absolutely safe connection. The pipes are 3.2 mm thick, the international standard."

Nisso's scaffolding can be used as an access scaffold as well as for shoring and support.

Paschal currently markets its German parent's formwork in the Middle East and its decision to add scaffolding to its package of services has found favour with several contractors, says the spokesman.

Its sister firm Global International of Bahrain also markets a range of scaffolding including the Nisso, Cuplock and Kwickstage systems, frame scaffolding as well as jacks, props and supports.
