Mannai Corporation of Qatar and Worley of Australia have formed a strategic alliance that is expected to dramatically enhance the capabilities of both companies in the oil and gas industry.
''The mutually beneficial coalition of the extensive construction and service capabilities of Mannai's Industrial Group, specifically Mideast Constructors (Mecon) and Mannai Marine, and Australian-owned Worley's global renown as a leading design and engineering company, offers clients a unique combination of local experience and international expertise,'' says a Mannai spokesman.
He continues: ''Whilst Mannai has the capacity and expertise to carry out procurement, fabrication, installation and project management for offshore and onshore projects, Worley has a proven track record and experience in high level design, engineering and project management. Founded in the 1960s, Worley today is a leading engineering organisation in the international arena. Worley has 32 offices in 15 countries including key centres in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha. By pooling resources, Mannai and Worley together will be able to provide comprehensive EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) and facility support services to diverse industries, especially oil and gas and process industries, both in Qatar and throughout the region.''
Mannai Corporation vice chairman and managing director Abdulla Mannai is delighted at this significant development in his business. "Worley's experience in some of the biggest oil and gas projects in Asia and Australasia will be of enormous benefit to our clients, and we look forward to working together as one team, deploying our combined resources to the benefit of business in Qatar," he says.
Nick Milani, Worley's Alliance Sponsor is equally pleased by the association with Mannai. "The reputation of Mecon and Mannai Marine as firstrate construction companies complements ours as a major international player,'' he says. ''The perfect fit between the companies will enable clients to benefit from a more streamlined service, from inception through design, construction and maintenance, affording them the highest quality standards with significant economies in both cost and time."
