Interplast, a UAE manufactuer and supplier of electrical products, is looking to boost its profile in the Oman market.
The Sharjah-based Interplast already has a high export profile, exporting to around 48 countries across the world and it recently launched several new products on the market, further reinforcing its image as a 'one-stop' shop for electrical needs, says a company spokesman.
Established in 1981, Interplast is a leading manufacturer of quality electrical products in the region and holds an ISO 9001 certification awarded by ASTA (UK). Its electrical product range comprises Decoduct cable management systems, Edison wiring accessories and Intergard warning and protection systems for underground cables and pipes.
Decoduct is a complete range of conduit and trunking systems manufactured from specially formulated uPVC (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride) compounds, which meet and exceed international standards such as BS EN harmonised European Standards, Saso (Saudi Arabian Standards Organisation), ASTM/NEMA American standards, and relevant Gulf standards, says the spokesman. The range comprises round, oval, and flexible conduits, channels, schedule 40 and 80 conduits plus mini and maxi trunking (including the self-fixing type).
Decoduct also includes a comprehensive, well-engineered range of fittings to suit all types of conduit and trunking in the industry so as to provide a complete and cost-effective installation, he says.
Elaborating on the new Decoduct products launched, he says: "To meet the various demands of its worldwide market, Interplast introduced five new products: a maxi trunking system, PVC perimeter trunking, adaptable boxes, a range of cable trays and ladders and floor distribution systems.
"The improved maxi trunking system comes with moulded fittings for easy and cost-effective installation.
"The PVC perimeter trunking systems in both dado and skirting designs, consists of three compartments to allow complete segregation of power, data, and communication wiring. It is suited for the office environment of today and is available in a wide range of coloured and textured finishes, besides standard white, to provide increased scope for consultants, architects and interior designers. Alternative socket boxes are available to accept normal surface-mounted wiring accessories or the slim-line range of plates lying flush with the trunking lid.
"The stylish IP56-rated adaptable boxes add to the range of switch and socket mounting boxes (fixed or adjustable lugs) which comply with British Standard BS 4662.
"The new range of metal cable trays and ladders come in various finishes including pre-galvanised, hot-dip galvanised, epoxy coated, PVC laminated and stainless steel; while the new floor distribution systems are offered in raised, flush, or screeded floor types."
In addition, Interplast has also unveiled new Edison accessories. Says the spokesman: "Edison manufactures a comprehensive range of electrical accessories, which are type-tested by independent laboratories in both the UK and Saudi Arabia, and meet internationally accepted standards such as BS EN, Saso, and all relevant Gulf standards. Recently added to the range are new switches, sockets and wiring accessories. The new switches include architrave, key-operated, and three-pole fan isolator switches, while the new sockets include Saso (15 A 127 V), 12 V, and Schuko sockets, as well as a new cooker control unit.
"The recently-unveiled Merit and Elite ranges of wiring accessories have been designed with an inner assembly and plate, and an outer interchangeable plate which hide both the screw and the screw plug.
"Elite has plain rounded-edge plates while Merit has the traditional rope edge plates. Both these ranges are available in glossy gold, satin gold, glossy chrome and satin chrome finishes."
Edison's existing range of products, which incorporates plates manufactured from virtually unbreakable high-impact polycarbonate, includes: 1 to 8 gang light switches (10 AX rated); 1 to 4 gang dimmer switches; 20, 32, and 45 amp DP switches; 13 A 250 V switched and unswitched sockets (SP and DP); 15 A 250 V/16 A universal /12 V sockets; and lampholders, ceiling roses and pendant sets as well as many other electrical, communication, and data accessories.
"Edison products carry the CE mark, indicating compliance with European safety regulations and are produced in a vertically-integrated manufacturing facility, giving firm control on quality, and facilitating the development of economically-produced new products," he says.
Besides the standard white range, Edison accessories are also available in several coloured and textured finishes, giving consultants, architects and interior designers a wide choice. They can also be supplied to match its Decoduct perimeter trunking finishes.
Interplast's other divisions include : IP Harwal which produces PVC compounds; IP Decopack - flexible packaging materials; IP Decoform - thermoformed products; and IP Duramax - home improvement products
"To summarise, Interplast's objective is to be the one-stop electrical manufacturer and supplier, which offers the right cost-effective solutions with quality products and an exemplary service," the spokesman adds.
