Naffco becomes NFPA distributor

01 March 2003

National Fire Fighting Manufacturing Company (Naffco) has been appointed as an authorised distributor of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) products in the Middle East.

This tie-up with the international organisation will usher in a flow of information to the Middle East on the latest developments in the world of fire and safety, says a spokesman for the Dubai-based company.

The official announcement of the joint partnership between NFPA and Naffco was made during Intersec 2003, the fifth international commercial security, fire and safety exhibition and conference, held recently at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Naffco is an ISO 9001-certified company specialising in the design and manufacture of a wide range of fire-fighting and fire-protection equipment.

NFPA, meanwhile, is a world leader in formulating codes and standards and is a leading association for fire, electrical, building and life safety professionals.

"Naffco and NFPA's mission is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and related hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating scientifically-based codes and standards, research, training and education," says the spokesman.

"Professionals in the Middle East interested in becoming members of NFPA can now enrol through Naffco. This will, in turn, provide members with significant advantages, enabling them to increase their knowledge and keep in touch with the latest developments in the field of fire safety.

"On becoming a member of NFPA, he/she is issued with a distinctive membership certificate and an annually-renewed ID card which are proof of affiliation with the recognised world leader in fire and life safety.

"Members also receive a number of NFPA publications. These include the NFPA Journal, a bimonthly magazine discussing new technologies, details and analysis of significant fire events; NFPA Update, a bimonthly membership newsletter covering upcoming NFPA seminars and membership activities; and NFPA Journal Buyer's Guide, detailing the source of every product."

The support services offered by NFPA for the fire safety and industry include reference materials such as the 2003 National Fire Codes, Uniform Fire Code, Life Safety Code 2003, Fire Protection Handbook, National Fire Alarm Code, National Fuel Gas Code, National Electrical Code, Uniform Plumbing Code, Building Construction and Safety Code.

"Civil defence personnel, engineers, life safety professionals, healthcare facilities personnel, consultants, architects and the industry as a whole can now avail of NFPA services through Naffco which can cater to the requirements for the entire range of NFPA publications, codes and standards, video programmes, fire safety education materials for reference and study.

"All NFPA publications can be sourced from Naffco at competitive rates in local currency.

"In addition, Naffco provides complete solutions for all types of facilities, including residential buildings, commercial complexes, telecommunication centres, industrial installations, refineries and petrochemical industries," he says.
