Range of benefits provided by Hilti

Yigit Yeltepe of Hilti Regional Office in Dubai explains how anchoring reinforcing bars with Hilti HIT-RE 500-injection adhesive is innovative and easy.

Specially-developed to secure rebars in existing components, Hilti's new adhesive anchor system offers specifiers and users a whole range of outstanding benefits.

When specifying an anchoring system, a key criterion is reliability in very different conditions. Hilti HIT-RE 500 adhesive isn't sensitive to oversized, dirty or wet anchor holes. Furthermore, it can also be used in holes drilled with rotary hammers or diamond bits.

Maximised safety for specifiers and optimised working conditions for users come from this adhesive's innovative formulation. For example, Hilti HIT-RE 500 provides sufficient time for the final adjustment of installed rebars, while it has a relatively short curing time. These unique product features apply to the unequalled temperature range of -5 deg C to 40 deg C.

Although the high performance and handling of this new adhesive might be breathtaking, its odour isn't. In fact, with the HIT-RE 500 Hilti has created a virtually odourless adhesive, which also communicates its uniqueness through its appearance.

Due to its red colour, checking post-installed rebars is easy, a single glance immediately confirming that the adhesive was used for safety's sake.

The HIT-RE 500 also fits ideally in the Hilti HIT injection system - a programme that has proven itself world wide. This means that there's no problem using foil packs or cartridges of this new adhesive in any Hilti HIT dispenser currently on the market, no matter whether it functions manually, pneumatically or is battery-powered.

This choice and two foil pack/cartridge sizes, that is 330 and 1100 ml, ensure that tailor-made solutions exist for each application. Furthermore, the Hilti HIT system assures users of a constant level of adhesive quality even after long work breaks, thus ensuring even more economical use of material.

Thanks to the HIT-RE 500, the days are past when rebars couldn't be bonded in place due to unsuitable temperatures or bad weather, thus delaying construction progress.

Today, it doesn't matter whether temperatures are below zero or tropical, whether rebar holes are wet or even full of rain water. The easy handling and high performance of the adhesive can be relied upon.

Now, construction companies have an easier time keeping to schedules. Engineers can specify a fastening system that is impressively tolerant towards installation errors. The market will very soon verify that, through a concerted innovation effort, Hilti fastening specialists have once again succeeded in producing a top product in the form of the HIT-RE 500.
