Doka has launched a new falsework said to be purpose-designed for tunnelling applications.
The SL1 falsework was unveiled at Intermat (International Exhibition of Equipment and Techniques for the Civil Engineering and Construction Industry), which was held in May in Paris, France.
Detailing the features of the new product , a spokesman for the Austrian manufacturer says: ''Using only a small number of different standardised components, the SL1 makes it possible to assemble perfect-fit column units and superposed roof-supports. Thanks to its high load-bearing capacity, the system is suitable even for extremely high slab loads. Its main area of application is for tunnel formwork, as the sturdy system components make it possible to leave sufficiently wide spans for drive-through access openings.'
Doka also presented its new facade formwork at the expo. The facade formwork consists of a column-formwork unit and the supporting scaffold for the pre-cast parapet members. It permits a rapid construction sequence and takes the pressure off the crane, which is now used for short periods to lift the precast members in place.
The Dokaflex table, one of the path-breaking innovations of Doka in recent years, also made its debut at this year's Intermat. 'This pre-assembled tableform is quick and easy in assembling and only needs to have its props mounted on site,'' the spokesman says. ''The lining and levelling work is just as quick, thanks to the relatively small number of props. When it comes to striking the formwork and moving it to its next location on the same level, there is a special shifting trolley with an attachable electric drive unit. This enables one person to move large forming units quickly and effortlessly.
'As a capable partner of the construction industry, Doka is able to supply not only top-quality innovative formwork products, but also the efficient formwork-planning know-how to go with them,' he adds.
