Al Oasis gets crushing plant from Sandvik

01 September 2003

Sandvik Rock Processing (SRP) of Sweden, the new business sector within Sandvik  Mining and Construction, has delivered and assembled a crushing and screening plant for Saudi Arabia's leading construction company, the Al Oasis Group.

The group has recently decided to expand and incorporate a company, which would produce aggregate for its ready-mix and asphalt, for other required road material.
Al Oasis says that the reason behind this move was to ensure that the quality of raw material used in construction would conform to the same high quality as the work itself.

High quality equipment
''When Al Oasis decided to expand their business to include aggregate production, they needed to find a supplier that could deliver high quality equipment, combined with satisfactory guarantees for production of the correct end materials,'' says a Sandvik spokesman. ''They therefore approached Sandvik Rock Processing. The result was that SRP made up the process and delivered the most important machines. Al Oasis manufactured the steel structures and conveyors in their own steel workshop using drawings and instructions from SRP.''
From the start, the plant also incorporates some older Svedala Arbra screens. Apart from these, the plant consists of one primary VMHC 6012 feeder, one Jawmaster 1208 jawcrusher, one Hydrocone S-4000, one Hydrocone H-4000, one Hydrocone H-3000 with ASR control systems and two new screens. The plant produces basalt material and has a capacity of 350 tonnes per hour.
Sandvik specialises in crushers, screens, feeders and mobile units. Sandvik Rock Processing, which has production units in Svedala, Arbra Sweden and Chauny, France, generates sales of $165 million annually, with about 900 employees. Sandvik Mining and Construction comprises of four other companies: Sandvik Tamroc, VA-Eimco, Driltech Mission and Sandvik Materials Handling.
