Global construction tools and fastening systems manufacturer Hilti has recently launched two new mid-range combihammers, which are now setting the pace in drilling and chiselling applications, says a spokesman for Hilti Regional Office in Dubai.
The Hilti TE 56 and TE 46 combihammers in the 5 to 6 kg class offer maximum power and extreme versatility, he says.
The TE 56, which has a powerful 1,100-watt motor, is designed for hammer drilling in concrete with hammer drill bits, breach bits and percussion core bits.
'As expected of a top-class combihammer, this versatile medium-weight tool also packs a powerful punch for chiselling,' says the spokesman.
The new tool includes many practical features to make life easier for the tradesman. These include the convenient mode-setting switch, a well-dimensioned control switch, a switch lock button for sustained chiselling, a visual service indicator, two-stage hammering power pre-selection and effective dual-path cooling. A wide range of durable insert tools from the TE-Y system (SDS-max) is available for drilling and chiselling.
In addition, the TE 56's modular design makes servicing quicker and reduces repair costs.
Turning to the TE 46, he says this extremely powerful, robust and reliable combihammer is driven by a 1,050-W motor.
'Professional users will appreciate its many sophisticated features that take the hard work out of tough drilling and chiselling jobs,' says the spokesman.
'Its weight of 5.9 kg puts the new Hilti TE 46 squarely in the mid-range, while its special TE-T insert tool system makes it ideal for medium-duty applications.'
The TE-T (SDS-top) tool system is classed exactly between the TE-C (SDS-plus) and the TE-Y (SDS-max) chucks and is thus tailor-made for medium-duty applications, he adds. It optimises power transmission from the machine to the insert tool while its compact dimensions keep the system weight to a minimum.
The TE-T drill bits are durable and are available in a wide range of diameters.
Besides the TE 46, the TE-T insert tool system is also used by the Hilti TE 35 light-duty combihammer.
The TE 46 also boasts a number of features. Dual-path cooling ensures pleasant operating temperatures even during prolonged periods of operation and the convenient mode selector switch is particularly easy to use. A number of refinements have been packed into the well-padded grip section, such as the multi-finger control switch for smooth speed regulation, the switch lockbutton for sustained chiselling, the visual service indicator and two-stage preselection switch for full or reduced hammering power.
The TE 56 and TE 46 combihammers are the first choice for professionals in electrical and mechanical installation and virtually all other trades, the spokesman adds.
