Ingersoll-Rand (IR) Portable Power, a leading construction and mining machinery manufacturer, has launched a new range of large 9 to 12 kg vibration-reduced pickhammers for the equipment rental, construction, building, utility and industrial markets.
'Designed for demolition and surface- preparation applications in construction, the new large IR10PV and IR12PV pickhammers are also suitable for metal surface cleaning, tank cleaning, maintenance work and similar tasks in the industry. They have latch or screw retainers for use with most common chisel configurations,' says a UK-based spokesman for the company.
Adding to the existing line of small pickhammers, the new tools offer the lowest ever vibration levels for products of this type, increasing operator comfort and safety, as well as boosting productivity, he says.
Few moving parts and many common items across the large and small pickhammer ranges simplify maintenance requirements on the tools. Like all pneumatic tools from IR Portable Power, the new large pickhammers are covered by the company's free-of-charge, extended three-year warranty option, providing peace of mind and full cover of the parts during the warranty period.
IR also offers three small pickhammer models weighing 2, 3 and 5 kg. Completing the line-up are three pickhammer kits incorporating the 2, 3 and 5 kg models, with a set of chisels and couplings for use with the tools.
Complementing the pickhammers is the IR family of paving breakers comprising four models with operating weights of 15, 21, 30 and 40 kg. They offer excellent breaking performance and some of the lowest vibration levels on the market, the spokesman claims.
Combined with the market-leading range of Ingersoll-Rand portable compressors, the new pickhammers and breakers form a complete package from IR Portable Power. The tools are accompanied by a full range of accessories from IR including chisels, steels, hoses, clamps, couplings and lubricators. IR has also developed Pro-Tec lubricant, which is specially designed for use with the new paving breakers, he adds.
