Fleming provides a decorative accent

01 March 2004

Canadian manufacturer Fleming Steel Doors and Frames has expanded its product line with the addition of its Vector line of steel door frames, which feature an embossed linear design to give commercial doors a decorative accent while maintaining the structural integrity of the frame.

The frame is manufactured from paintable Galvanneal or G90 steel – which is obtained through a hot-dipped galvanising process – to conform to the rigid commercial specifications including UL fire rating. The frames are available in two distinct designs.
All Fleming products, which are manufactured G90 steel, come with the industry’s only 10-year warranty against rust perforation and finished paint film adhesion, claims a spokesman for the company.
Fleming is part of the Sweden-headquartered Assa Abloy group of companies, a world leader in locking solutions. Assa Abloy opened its Middle East office in Dubai last year.
Fleming began operations in the non-residential steel door and frame industry as a small custom manufacturer in the greater Toronto area in 1959. A combination of quality, product depth and service (fastest lead times in the industry) allowed Fleming to grow into being the largest supplier in this market.
“By 1980, we realised that to obtain the desired growth we would have to switch our marketing approach from selling to general contractors directly to selling to distributors nationally who would stock Fleming products, perform final fabrication in their shops and sell directly to their local general contractors. Between 1980 and 1986, Fleming proceeded to locate distributors in every major city in Canada. Today Fleming is Canada’s largest manufacturer of steel doors and frames for the non-residential building market,” he says.
Fleming’s head office and manufacturing plant is housed in a modern 140,000 sq ft plant in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. The manufacturing plant sits on 9.5 acres of prime industrial property with the potential to almost double the existing fabrication space as growth demands.
“Fleming’s reputation as one of North America’s fastest growing steel door and frame manufacturers is due to its commitment to quality, service, product development and the use of state-of-the-art technology. The use of CAD/CAM and real time production planning affords Fleming the best delivery lead times in the industry at competitive prices. The latest in production equipment, tools in plant automation and the ISO 9001 registration allows Fleming to offer  high- quality product and services,” he concludes.
