Notifier, a leading manufacturer of commercial fire alarm systems and part of Honeywell’s Fire Systems Group, has added an e-mail enhancement to its UniNet Online and Noti•Fire•Net (NFN) Web Server fire system network products.
This additional capability will allow users to automatically e-mail critical alarm information to up to 50 different designated contacts, ensuring that staff members are aware of all historical events including alarm, pre-alarm, trouble, supervisory and devise disables.
Notifier’s new e-mail enhancement uses standard e-mail features and can automatically forward property and life-saving messages to any PC, laptop, web-enabled PDA or BlackBerry wireless unit, says a spokesman for the US-based company.
UniNet Online is a web-based service designed to offer facility managers convenient access to information on diverse building systems integrated on the powerful UniNet 2000 network. Via the internet or an intranet, facility managers can monitor building system alarm events such as fire, security, CCTV, card access and more, all from one main source.
The NFN Web Server is a web-based service, which provides facility managers with remote access to their NFN network of fire alarm control panels.
Similar to UniNet Online, it allows facility managers to use the internet or an intranet to conveniently access information on their Notifier fire alarm control panels, easily view an event history, track a system’s status or device properties, and obtain other information, says the spokesman.
In addition, specific alarm events can be directed to the appropriate personnel. For example, any system trouble events can be emailed directly to maintenance personnel while alarm events are sent to managers and directors.
“With the freedom of wireless technology for email-enabled devices, personnel are no longer tied to their desktops,” he adds.
Onyx
Among Notifier's recent innovations is the Onyx Series, designed to provide maximum flexibility with products that can be linked together to form integrated solutions for any fire or life safety challenge.
The Onyx series includes Notifier’s NFS-640 and NFS-3030 fire alarm control panels and peripherals such as detectors, power supplies and audio transponders. It offers simpler installation, programming, troubleshooting and training, resulting in lower overall costs. Additionally, Onyx products are capable of interfacing with existing Notifier products.
