Mammut appoints senior manager

As a part of efforts to continuously upgrade and improve its fabrication quality and production systems, Mammut Building Systems – claimed to be the largest manufacturer of pre-engineered steel buildings (PEB) in the UAE – has recruited Ken Krieger for the position of plant general manager.

Says Muayyad Khudairi, vice president of Mammut Building Systems: “Our intent to recruit the best managers/leaders as department heads was our first strategic goal when I joined Mammut in January 2002. We strongly believe that the level of satisfaction of our customers is congruent with the level of satisfaction of our employees. Hiring experienced managers and effective leaders substantially increases both the self-esteem of our employees and their productivity and invariably results in a higher level of satisfaction among our customers.”
Krieger has 30 years experience in the production of PEBs and has held a similar position at Kirby Building Systems, Kuwait, during the early 1980s and at Zamil Steel, Saudi Arabia during the mid-1990s.
Mammut – the only PEB manufacturer that offers a supply and erection option for its buildings within the UAE – claims to have captured a 65 per cent share of the PEB market in the UAE while continuing to increase its market share in Qatar, Oman and the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
Recently, the company has also released a document titled, “The Mammut Difference”, outlining its product superiority over its competitors and its claims of having the highest-quality PEB components in this region.
The company currently produces 4,000 tonnes of PEBs per month against a monthly plant capacity of 5,000 tonnes, giving it 1,000 tonnes of spare capacity to tackle large-scale fast-track jobs, says Khudairi.
Mammut is the only company in this region that offers four standard cladding colours in three different specifications – 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm AluZinc coated steel, and 0.7 mm aluminum, he adds.
