German manufacturer Missel has a launched new standsalone bathroom concept that leaves the walls untouched, opening up some fascinating possibilities for an individual room design.

Tiles, natural stone, glass, mirrors, wood, wallpaper, wall murals can now be used on the walls and changed at any time, says a spokesman.
The new range known as Colonna, which combines design and technology in a unique way, is inspired by the geometrical form of a pillar and has been developed by the Stuttgart-based architect and designer Harald Schnur from balneo-design.
The elementary components of the product concept are triangular Missel compact elements that are grouped in a square column (46 by 46 by 115 cm). Based on the premise that a comfortable room design in conjunction with reliable sound protection is a precondition for quiet relaxation and well being, the system – comprising Missel’s compact washbasin, bidet and toilet cistern as well as the hot and cold water pipes and drainpipe  – comes fitted with a very effective Missel structure-borne sound insulation.
The elegant appearance of this attractive sanitary sculpture is further enhanced by a three-quarter circle washbasin stand on which the two washbasins appear to float.
The surface decoration of Colonna can be chosen to suit the client’s personal interior design style and varied at any time by replacing the decors at any time, says the spokesman.
Missel offers a wide range of matching elegant materials such as glass, stainless steel, wood and natural stone. A wide variety of materials are also available for the washbasin stand and washbasin.

Trend-setting designs
Missel’s compact sanitary elements can also be combined stylishly to eliminate the often enormous disparity in aesthetics of a tastefully designed restaurant and a bleak toilet area.
Missel, the specialist for innovative bathroom design, shows how this is possible with individual design concepts, thereby opening up new planning possibilities. The space-optimising Missel compact elements of washbasin and urinal and the Missel compact toilet cistern offer variable installation options that enable very unusual positioning and very individual, design-oriented toilet planning, says the spokesman.
“What’s more, the manufacturer also offers a wide range of attractive decor surfaces for its elements – from wood, stainless steel and glass through to fascinating natural stones,” says the spokesman. “All of these decor variants are exchangeable. This makes later renovations easier and thus cheaper.”
But that’s not all: Missel is also a specialist for highly effective sound protection and has fitted all elements of its innovative plumbing technology with a reliable structure-borne sound insulation thereby avoiding annoying functional noises, he concludes.
