Peri, one of the largest formwork specialists, will present a range of formwork technology innovations – on an area totalling 2,500 sq ft – during the World of Concrete (WOC) 2006, to be held from January 17 to 23, in Las Vegas, US.
“Trade fair visitors will have the opportunity to view and handle new products which provide users with considerable time, safety and cost benefits. The numerous practical demonstrations clearly show the advantages of the Peri systems,” says a spokesman for the Germany-based Peri.
“For economical construction of walls, Peri offers Trio, which is the world’s most successful wall panel formwork,” says the spokesman. “Another outstanding product from Peri's stables is the BFD alignment coupler, which requires only one component for all connections. The coupler ensures that all panel joints are: flush, aligned, and tight in only one step. It allows clients to achieve their objectives faster and hence more cost-effectively. This revolutionary connection device has proven itself to dramatically reduce erection and dismantling times, thereby increasing production rates,” he says.
“At the WOC 2006, Peri will present the Trio stopend panel along with Trio shaft formwork as the logical addition to the proven formwork system itself. The Peri Trio MT/MTF stopend element can be used with or without water bars. This system can be easily attached to the Peri Trio frames by means of the BFD coupler, thus simplifying assembly. A long-lasting rubber lip fixed to the centre section prevents any leakage of fresh concrete. For shaft construction, the Peri Trio TSE shaft element guarantees fast and efficient placement of complete internal shaft formwork units. The entire inner formwork can be moved in one crane lift, which brings substantial time advantages for the user,” he adds.
“Peri’s flexible girder wall formwork system, the Vario GT 24, can be used along with the durable and high load-bearing GT 24 lattice girder, to provide optimal wall formwork that can meet various applications.
“The Peri Rundflex circular formwork is a modular construction system that can be used for circular walls with radii as small as 3 ft 3 in. Another popular product is the Peri Quattro that can be used to form rectangular column cross-sections. The Quattro, which can be moved as a complete unit, requires only one crane lift therefore providing large cost savings. Through the use of concreting platforms and integrated access ladders, safety levels as well as job performance are increased,” says the spokesman.
“Also on display will be the lightweight Peri Skydeck aluminium panel slab formwork – a proven system for slab thicknesses of up to 3 ft. Through the use of the drop head, formwork can be removed the following day thus freeing up material for the next concreting cycle. By using Skydeck Ply, plywood can be substituted for panels. The Peri SBP (Skydeck beam plywood) beam provides secure and safe formlining joints due to its broad support feature.
“The new MPB 24 aluminium, is yet another economical solution from Peri that will be displayed at the WOC 2006. Combining this high load-bearing support beam with the lightweight and strong Peri Multiprop aluminium slab post shores results in up to 30 per cent savings in material costs.”
“Peri has realised the importance of offering complete service along with an extensive range of products. This means customers receive the most efficient and effective solutions for all areas of reinforced concrete construction,” says the spokesman.
“With an estimated $820 million in revenues for 2005, Peri is the world’s largest manufacturer and supplier of formwork, shoring and scaffolding systems. With numerous innovations during the past 36 years, the company has been able to sustain a constant rate of growth in the formwork and scaffolding industry. In addition to its innovative products, Peri offers engineering, planning, special software, a rental service and logistics support,” the spokesman concludes.
