Al Nasser scales new heights

01 February 2006

Al Nasser Company, a Riyadh-based supplier of advanced wiring devices, lighting systems and security systems, has seen itself scale new heights recently, thanks to its value-added technical support and focus on quality.

In its pursuit for excellence, the company has recently partnered with Bosch of Germany and Philips Lighting of the Netherlands to offer advanced fire alarm and security systems and lighting systems, respectively, to the kingdom.
Established in 1981 as a lighting systems supplier, the company today has diversified its portfolio to offer a spectrum of products designed to transform a simple home or office into a high-tech living space offering a myriad of comfort and safety features – right from dimmers to building management systems and from motion sensors to advanced access control systems.
“We have been very successful especially over the past 10 years and have registered year on year growth,” says Mohammed Al Nasser, a spokesman for the company. “We utilise two marketing channels to ensure that we achieve our business targets – through our 10 showrooms as well as a team of outdoor salesmen trained to promote our products and services efficiently.”
Starting with a single showroom in the Malaz area of Riyadh, the company has grown over the years to include 10 showrooms throughout the kingdom as well as regional offices and warehouses in Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh.
Al Nasser Company was founded with the objective of providing high-precision quality products with prompt technical support to its customers. Driven by its motto of providing “total customer satisfaction”, the company has expanded its portfolio to offer its customers total solutions for electrical and related low-voltage equipment for any type of project requirement.
“Every customer is given personal attention regardless of the size of the project,” he says.
Al Nasser today markets wiring devices from Berker of Germany, outdoor and indoor lighting systems from leading European manufacturers, sound systems from FBT of Italy, CCTV and audio video door phones from Hyundai of South Korea and cable management systems, including underfloor trunking systems, busbars, and underfloor terminal boxes, from Ackermann Company of Germany; and junction boxes from Kaiser of Germany.
Al Nasser provides a wide range of decorative lighting fixtures sourced from reputed manufacturers from Germany, Spain and Italy, ranging from spotlights to chandeliers as well as a variety of outdoor luminaries which include lampposts, pole lights, bollard lights, decorative lampposts and power projectors and floodlights.
The company branched into the field of security and the surveillance systems more than a decade ago and today offers a total security package including:
•  Audio video door phones, access control systems including biometrics, from leading Spanish and Korean manufacturers;
•  Time attendance and access control for offices;
•  Door locking system from Miwa Locks system of Japan;
•  Complete CCTV surveillance solutions from leading manufacturers in Germany, Belgium, Italy and South Korea; and
•  Anti-burglary alarms and fire detection systems from Netherland, Italy and America.
Its more popular lines come from Berker and Company. The company is the sole agent for the German manufacturer and distributes its products to various other Middle East countries including Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon and Egypt.
“Berker products, which have gained customer appreciation for the high quality, have helped the company to widen its customer base to cover all parts of the kingdom,” says Al Nasser.
“Intelligent controls and tasteful devices that complement the interiors are a highlight of Berker products, which are designed with a modular concept so that they are easy to install. Berker has switches for almost every application and also provides switches for shutter control, electronic timers and controllers,” he says.
“Berker also offers an extensive range of motion detectors, which help make an electrical system more efficient and economical. These sensors switch on the lights of the entrance or the corridor automatically when someone approaches, providing an energy-saving solution and proving a deterrent against trespassing. Other innovative products include sun/twilight sensors, which can control the window shutters or switch on/off the outdoor light depending on the environmental illumination.”
 “Our technical support staff is well equipped to handle any query and meet the specification for different products. They are capable of designing lighting, sound and access control systems as per the client’s requirements and specifications,” he continues.
Al Nasser is currently in negotiations to supply the National Commercial Bank headquarters in Riyadh (where Philips lighting will be installed), the King Faisal University in Hofuf as well as the Durrat Al Khobar resort at Half Moon Bay in Al Khobar.
Among the outstanding projects handled by the company are the Kingdom Centre (complete wiring devices from Berker); Jeddah Hilton Palace (wiring devices), Hilton Madinah; and more recently the Royal Malls in Dammam and Riyadh (entire lighting systems).
Other projects include the Prince Sultan Humanitarian City and the Power Plant 9 – Riyadh, Hilton Hotel, Sheraton Hotel (Royal Apartments) in Madinah, Meridien Hotel in Jeddah, Holiday Inn and Marriott Hotel in Riyadh, Corniche Plaza and Al Khozama Towers in Jeddah and a number of embassies in Riyadh. Al Nasser has also supplied to Dar Al Arkan Villa compounds featuring more than 1,000 villas.
