DeWalt’s new saws enhance speed

Leading high-performance industrial power tools and accessories manufacturer DeWalt has recently launched two heavy-duty reciprocating saws, which are claimed to offer increased power, cutting speed and durability.
Available as an orbital action model – the DW311K – and non-orbital model – the DW310K – these saws are described as being ideal for electricians, plumbers and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) professionals, as well as for remodelling, demolition and framing jobs in construction sites around the globe.
“The new DeWalt DW311k and the DW310K will be replacing the DW 309K and the DW307MK models from its existing portfolio. Designed with powerful 1,200 W motors for heavy-duty applications, these saws operate at up to 2,600 spm (strokes per minute), have a 28 mm stroke length, and a variable speed trigger, ensuring fast and efficient cutting operations,” explains a spokesman for DeWalt. “The DW311K is also equipped with orbital action – a first for DeWalt reciprocating saws – which allows for fast and aggressive wood-cutting. Additionally, the DW311K has a variable speed control dial, which helps users match the correct speed with the application for increased versatility and control.”
DeWalt has designed these new saws for increased reliability and durability. A forged wobble plate mechanism makes the saws highly impact resistant, and the steel gears are hardened for increased durability. The drive shaft is constructed with a robust, one-piece design, and the reciprocating shaft is nitride coated for extended life and ultimate wear protection.
“Additionally, the DW311K and DW310K also have a keyless, stainless steel blade clamp for quick and easy blade changes. The saws are designed with a keyless adjustable shoe, allowing for quick and easy adjustments to the depth of the cut. This feature also helps to extend the life of the blade. The DW311K offers an anti-slip comfort grip for increased comfort and control during cutting,” he concludes.
The DW311K and DW310K are available with standard equipment that includes a heavy-duty carrying case and a reciprocating saw blade.
