Conren International, a UK-based manufacturer of industrial coating systems, recently celebrated 30 years of trading in the UAE through its Dubai representative of Al Shirawi Contracting Company, with its flagship product of Rooftex.

“Rooftex, introduced into the market in 1976, has been a phenomenal success,” says Veronica Dawson, export manager of Conren International. “It is a single-component cold-applied, polyurethane-based liquid, which cures to provide an extremely durable waterproofing membrane, suitable for use in numerous applications, ranging from foundation waterproofing, wet area works, podiums and planters, and roof areas,”
“Over the years, we have had to contend with many external factors to ensure the continued success of our business. We have experienced the boom and subsequent crash of economies, the effects of natural disasters, conflicts, as well as the more expected problems of increasing raw material costs, freight charges and currency fluctuations.
“Despite these factors, we have maintained our position in the market by upholding our business ethos of supplying consistently high-quality materials, backed up with performance guarantees and excellent customer service,” adds Dawson.
Rooftex is now firmly acknowledged as a market leader in the field of waterproofing on a worldwide basis and Conren has established a formidable reputation for its products and, with the assistance of a team of exclusive agents and distributors, continues to be involved in numerous prestigious projects.
Conren attributes the success of its waterproofing business in the UAE also to the hard work and professionalism of its agent Al Shirawi Contracting Company.
Al Shirawi is also an experienced applicator of waterproofing systems, and in recent months has completed works with Rooftex at Dragon Mart, Al Nasr Palace, the Mall of the Emirates Hotel and Madinat Jumeirah.
Conren has agents and distributors in around 20 other countries, including Hong Kong, Macau, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Algeria, and most of the Gulf states. Each agent has an exclusive territory, and all Conren materials, including Rooftex, can only be purchased through the agent or direct from the UK.
“Conren International work closely with all its agents to ensure the correct specification is recommended on a project-by-project basis, allowing the client to have full confidence in the end result,” Dawson concludes.
