Wirtgen to exhibit strong product lines

01 March 2007

The Wirtgen Group, one of Germany’s fastest-growing companies, with its renowned Wirtgen, Vögele, Hamm and Kleemann brands, will exhibit the latest technologies in its two lines of business – road and mineral technologies – on two stands at bauma 2007.

In the road technologies line, Wirtgen, Vögele and Hamm will show more than 80 products on a 7,680 sq m stand in the outdoor area (F 1010/1011/1012). The products on display will include the high-quality cutting tools made by Betek, Wirtgen’s system partner of many years, and binding agent spreaders manufactured by Streumaster Maschinenbau.
The mineral technologies line of business will be represented by five mobile crushers made by Kleemann on stand 320 in Hall B2.

Wirtgen
Wirtgen completes its small milling machine product series concept with five newly-developed machine models. In less than three years, its engineers developed the entire range of small milling machines: The small milling machine portfolio now comprises a total of nine powerful milling machines, including the new the W 60, W 100, W 100 F, W 120 F and W 130 F that will make their debut at this year’s bauma. The complete range allows different customer target groups to choose a machine that is accurately tailored to their specific application requirements, says a spokesman for Wirtgen.
The W 60 and W 100 represent the upper class of the rear loaders in the small milling machine range.
“Their new concept enables both machines to offer an extended range of performances that is due to their powerful 155 kW engine, larger diesel and water tank capacities for increased milling efficiency, and ingenious performance improvements in loading the milled material,” says the spokesman.
The three highly innovative front loaders W 100 F, W 120 F and W 130 F represent the upper performance class, completing the portfolio of small milling machines.
“Wirtgen sets the bar high with regard to convenient and intelligent one-man operation of the machine, automated work processes and a highly ergonomic design of the operator’s workplace,” he says. “The new cold milling machines can be equipped with the innovative levelling system Level Pro, an in-house development that uses hardware and software specifically adapted to the working conditions of these machines.”
The smallest new slipform paver model SP 150, which has been developed purely for offset applications, will also be making its maiden appearance at the bauma.
The portfolio of cold recyclers and soil stabilisers has been completed to include the new WR 2400 and Wirtgen intends to exhibit its entire range of wheel-mounted Wirtgen recyclers, covering the most common working widths of 2 m, 2.40 m and 2.50 m. All wheel-mounted cold recycler models can be equipped with the complete range of options for cold recycling: high-tech injection bars process water, bitumen emulsion, foamed bitumen or cement slurry.
Meanwhile, Wirtgen has considerably expanded production capacities for its five product divisions at Windhagen by investing in a new 17,000 sq m final assembly plant and continues to strengthen its leading market position by specializing production engineering in the cold milling machine and cold recycler product series divisions.

Joseph Vogele
Vogele – whose display at bauma will include16 of its latest road pavers and a feeder – has recently developed four new tracked pavers and two wheeled pavers of the dash-2 generation in the 1600, 1800, 1900 and 2100 performance classes. All new paver models will be equipped with the user-friendly operating concept ErgoPlus.
“A highlight of the exhibition will be the launch of the new pavers Super 1100-2 and Super 1300-2. These new pavers impress with their highly compact design, which makes them ideally suited for road construction in urban areas and in extremely confined job site conditions,” says a spokesman for Joseph Vogele, a specialist and market leader in high-compaction technology. “The new extending screed AB 340 is a highly modern paving screed specially designed for the new compact pavers. Depending on the machine model, it impresses with an excellent paving width of up to 4.50 m.
Yet another debutant at the exhibition will be Vogele’s new machine concept InLine Pave, a special development for “hot-on-hot” application whose hallmarks are a highly compact machine concept and a new high-density screed. InLine Pave enables the binder course and surface course to be paved in immediate succession, thus significantly improving the quality and life of a road. The InLine Pave train consists of the MT 1000-1 IP feeder, the Super 2100-2 IP binder course paver with high-density screed and Super 1600-2 or Super 1800-2 surface course paver.
Vogele, which claims to own the world’s largest and most modern manufacturing plant for wheeled and tracked pavers – has recently expanded its production capacities yet again with an additional, 4,400 sq m large final assembly plant for large pavers, enabling it to satisfy the great demand from international sales markets.

Hamm
Hamm’s complete series of small articulated rollers for asphalt compaction will be one of the exhibition highlights on the Wirtgen Group stand. Optimum range of vision, excellent ergonomics and driving convenience, compact dimensions and superior compaction performance are the hallmarks of the new Compact Line.
Another innovation on display will be Hamm’s HCQ Asphalt Navigator which helps to analyse the entire compaction operation, resulting in increased compaction efficiency and a higher quality of the compacted layer.

Kleemann
Wirtgen Mineral Technologies, the Wirtgen Group’s new line of business, will be represented by the Kleemann brand, which comprises mobile crushers and stationary plants for the processing of natural rock, demolition waste and mixed construction waste. Kleemann was one of the first companies offering crushers manufactured in series production.
Kleemann will showcase its mobile jaw crushers MC 100 R and MC 110 Z from the Mobicat series, which are used for crushing medium-hard to hard rock. The MC 110 has a new design based on that of the larger MC 120 and will be displayed for the first time on a trade show.
The powerful MS 130, a plant that rounds off Kleemann’s track-mounted range of mobile screening units, will also be shown for the first time. The new model is equipped with a large feed hopper and slotted screen tilted via radio control.
