Around 3,000 international companies for construction machinery, building material machines and mining equipment are expected to exhibit their product innovations as well as the latest trends in technologies and services when bauma opens later this month (April 23 to 29) in Munich, Germany.
The halls and the open air space are already fully booked at this event, the 28th in the series of international trade fairs for construction machinery, building material machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment.
Although the exhibition space has increased by 40,000 sq m to more than 540,000 sq m compared to 2004, the demand of exhibition area is still high, says Messe München International (MMI, Munich Trade Fairs International Group), the organiser.
“bauma 2007 will surpasses the last bauma (held in 2004) by far,” says the spokesman.
He continues: “Already bauma 2004 has claimed the distinction of being the largest single specialised trade fair in the world – with 2,801 exhibitors from 47 countries, 52 per cent of whom were international exhibitors. Also visitorwise, bauma 2004 broke all records: Out of the 416,000 visitors, 120,000 came from outside Germany. The exhibiting companies confirm the importance of bauma as the international meeting point for the sector. During bauma 2004, 93 per cent of exhibitors welcomed international visitors to their stands. These included 1,025 representatives from the Arabian Peninsula.”
This year, the Arabian Peninsula is the partner region for bauma.
“The partner region concept was created in 2001 to win high-ranking customers to visit to bauma in Munich, to establish and consolidate contacts and to exchange information about major projects in the region, in order to promote bauma in the region as a meeting place for exhibitors and customers,” says the spokesman. “The partner region concept was already successfully implemented with South America and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the previous events.
“Due to its incredible development, the Arabian Peninsula was chosen as partner region for this year’s show. Concentrating on the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Yemen, bauma 2007 offers all visitors from the Arabian Peninsula an accreditation as guest of honour with free-of-charge entry, a lounge with Arabic-speaking staff and other benefits.”
Many delegations of high-ranking business people and political representatives from the individual states in the Arabian Gulf are expected to attend bauma 2007.
In organising and holding of bauma, MMI is strongly supported by the trade associations for construction, building material and mining machinery within the VDMA – the German federation of machinery manufacturers – and their partner organisations throughout Europe. The VDMA and its member companies have exerted extensive efforts in establishing business contacts in the Arabian Gulf region and in getting high-level people to come to bauma. In addition, a tour of the region was also organised last February in conjunction with the AHK (Delegation of German Industry and Commerce).
The worldwide marketing for bauma has contributed to the successful development of bauma as the world’s most important trade fair for construction machinery and equipment, building materials machinery and mining technology. bauma is the Number one meeting place for all key players of the industry,” he concludes.
MMI is one of the world’s leading trade-fair companies, which organises around 40 trade fairs for capital and consumer goods, and key high-tech industries.
Each year over 30,000 exhibitors from more than 100 countries, and over two million visitors from more than 200 countries take part in the events in Munich. In addition, MMI organises trade fairs in Asia, Russia, the Middle East and South America.
