Hempel’s Casa is bold and beautiful
Paints and coatings major Hempel is well set to further strengthen its market presence with a wide range of decorative products.

Paints and coatings major Hempel offers a new range of thick textured acrylic coatings that combine innovative and beautiful exteriors with maximum protection from the elements.
Known as Casa, the range includes tough, durable, easy-to-use products that give a unique finish, says Roger Rayla, marketing manager, decorative for Hempel Middle East (West), Hempel’s area office for the northern and western half of the region.
“Casa creates a one-of-a-kind look, which is bold yet beautiful and breath-taking. Every Casa product is based on a proven water-based acrylic resin system; is workable for a long time and hence can easily achieve consistent patterns over large areas; provides great protective and durable finishes that are aesthetically pleasing; and offers a great variety depending on how the product is applied,” he says. “It may also be applied in a number of innovative and unique ways and then over-coated with the special Casa External Wash to leave an effect that is truly exclusive.”
Casa comes in two types: Craft Tex and Stone Tex.
Casa Craft Tex (586ME) contains a unique blend of fine fillers and special resins, which give the finish its characteristic effect. 'These unique finishes reflect the artistic finishes typical of the most famous villas and palaces in the Mediterranean region,” he explains. 'Casa Stone Tex, on the other hand, contains a unique blend of aggregates and resin that give the surface its rough and uneven, scratch-effect characteristics. The line offers a selection of stone-like scratched effects such as the Stone Tex High Spread (582ME), Stone Tex Standard (583ME) and Stone Tex High Build (585ME) – which are very popular.”
The Casa System is a combination of Casa textured and Hempel topcoat products – which gives the exterior walls the final colour and effect - while Casa External Wash is a premium-quality, pure acrylic-based, ready-to-use glaze, formulated to create the Casa special effects and also to replicate the architectural styles of traditional Mediterranean architecture. It is available in a select range of translucent colours, he says.
To complete the Hempel look internally, the paint manufacturer offers Fusions, which is “a mixture of colours and effects that fuses with the natural world and with every particular mood and style,” Rayla explains.
He continues: “Decorating a home is a combination of different paint application techniques, products, furniture and fabrics, colours, textures, design, creativity and personal taste. It mixes favourite ideas, traditional fabrics and furniture, nationalities and traditions with modern fabrics, designs and concepts. It fuses the old with the new, the conservative with the outrageous, the traditional and the modern. The final result is a harmonious design, a fusion of products, of décor, of your own personality and ideas.
“At Hempel, we truly understand that and have hence developed the Fusions range of products, which are designed to facilitate the creation of various paint effects.”
The range includes Aquamarble to achieve the luxury of real Italian marble on the walls. “With its soft texture that creates a classic welcoming ambiance, Aquamarble captures the warmth and depth of real Italian stucco plaster, while drying faster and making polishing much easier than other similar stucco-type products,” he points out.
Fusions Aquamarble, which is a water-based, low-odour and environmentally and user-friendly product, is available in a range of colours that complements the existing decoration scheme of the house. It can also be used in combination of colours to further imitate real marble. Where additional protective qualities are required, it can be overcoated with Fusions Protective Wax.
Fusions also comes in other exquisite finishes such as washes, glazes and highlights. These are simple water-based glazes and metal paints that deliver a sparkle to interior decoration such as Fusions Colour Wash, Fusions Metal Paint, Fusions Acrylic Scumble Glaze, Fusions Sand Texture, namely, sand plaster, fine plaster and plaster wash.
