Insulation plays a vital role in the air-conditioning sector and setting up a factory to meet the increasing needs of this booming industry has been a good decision, says Zaid Shacker Habeeb, marketing and sales manager for Sat Insulation Materials Industry, which set up its factory four years ago.
A member of SAT Group of Companies, the firm claims to have the only factory in the area that manufactures both pre-insulated panels PIR (polyisocyanurate) and phenolic. “Ours is a group of companies that has been in this market since 1981. We set up a factory in Dubai to meet the needs of the construction industry, which is witnessing a massive increase and our products reach out to almost 30 per cent of the market,” he says.
With a turnover of Dh27 million ($7.3 million), the factory producing about 5,000 sq m of insulation materials on a daily basis. “We are supplying the needs of not just the UAE but also other Gulf and Mena (Middle East and North Africa) countries. Our technology is from the US and focuses on the ducting in the air-conditioning areas, though it can also be used for all types of insulation purposes,” Habeeb says.
Sat’s duct pre-insulated systems are produced to meet the needs of projects in the residential, industrial and commercial buildings as well as malls and airports. Some the company’s prestigious projects in the UAE include the Sheikh Ahmed Saeed Al Maktoum building, Knowledge Village at Academic City, Mall of the Emirates, luxury beach Resort at Mina Seyahi, Marina Diamond Tower, Al Fardan Tower, Lake Terrace Towers, Buhaleeba Tower, Villas in Emirates Hills, Marina Crown Tower, besides projects in Sudan and Oman.
The company has a showroom and trading outlet – Sameer Abbas General Trading in Dubai – which specialises in air-conditioning, refrigeration, air and water purification (electrostatic air purifier and ozone generators) and plumbing systems.
