In precasting terms, the new Higher College of Technology for Men is considered to be one of the largest and most complex projects in Dubai. The development comprises 11 precast buildings interconnected by corridors, with a built-up area of 44,000 sq m.

Coordination of work on the Higher College of Technology for Men project to ensure its timely execution was a major challenge, says Richard Squire, project manager with Al Habtoor Engineering (HEE), the main contractor on the project.

ANEW college of higher education for thousands of students in Dubai - the first in what is proposed to be a Dubai Academic Village - opened for this academic year. The Dubai Men's College, part of the Higher Colleges of Technology, will be the first of 20 institutions to be based at the flagship development 25 km from the city centre.

The UK-based Sutton International was responsible for the commissioning management and commissioning of MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) services at the Higher College of Technology for Men in Dubai.
