ALIMAK AB of Sweden, a leading manufacturer of rack and pinion construction hoists and elevators, has obtained the prestigious contract to supply the passenger/materials hoists to what is claimed to be the world's tallest building - Taipei Financial Centre in Taipei, Taiwan, also called "101 Building".

The UpRight AB62RT combines aerial agility and reach for work on multi-storeystructures, with rough terrain strength, according to its Ireland-based manufacturer.

Last month UpRight's 100,000th aerial work platform rolled off the assembly line at the company's Selma plant in California, US.To celebrate the event, UpRight will be giving this landmark machine away - an XRT33 compact rough terrain scissor - to the lucky winner of a free draw competition running until February 15, 2000.
