UAE-BASED Arabian Construction Company (ACC) has won the construction contract for a major commercial project being developed by Emaar Middle East in Jeddah. Work on Emaar Square will commence soon and ACC will build three buildings as part of the project. The project handover will start in 2016.






SAUDI Railways Organisation (SRO) has signed a SR391.5-million ($104.4 million) contract with a Saudi contractor for the first phase of track-doubling on the Riyadh-Harad-Dammam freight-only line. The contract involves doubling a 214-km section of the line from Hofuf to Harad, and the project is expected to take two years to complete.






ESSAR Projects of India has bagged a multi-million-dollar maiden contract from Saudi national oil company Saudi Aramco.






MILLENNIUM and Copthorne Hotels Middle East and Africa (MEA) has unveiled plans to launch its Studio M brand in Riyadh in partnership with Saudi owner Waseel Properties and developer Raseel Properties.






SAUDI Aramco, the kingdom’s oil giant, is all set to start work in January on the construction of 11 new state-of-the-art stadiums across the country. The company will present bidding conditions for local and international companies to qualify for the project, said an Arab News report.






Fluor to build new Dow plant THE Dow Chemical Company has appointed Fluor Corporation to build a new factory to manufacture reverse osmosis components for desalination plants in Saudi Arabia. Fluor will build the plant at Second Jubail Industrial City under an engineering, procurement and construction contract.
