Al-Futtaim Engineering's (AFE) Scaffolding & Formwork Division has been the major supplier of scaffolding and access at Dubai International Airport since the concourse package was let over 12 months ago.
The sleek 800 m long by 80 m wide by 30 m high structure of the new concourse, designed by International Bechtel, presented a considerable challenge to Al Abbar Aluminium, which was entrusted with the work on the external building system (EBS).
Work on the new concourse at the Dubai International Airport is in the finishing stage and is due for handover to the client shortly.Part of the ambitious $540 million airport expansion plan initiated by the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) in 1996, the new concourse is located 300 m north of the existing passenger terminal.
