Master developer Nakheel is inviting construction proposals for Deira Islands Boulevard, its new Dh5-billion ($1.36 billion) community for 10,000 people, to be built at Deira Islands in Dubai.

Aldar Properties has made steady progress across all its projects, with Ansam on Yas Island and Al Hadeel at Al Raha Beach moving closer towards completion and handover this year. Giving an update, Aldar said the façade glazing of Al Hadeel is entering its final stages with internal fixtures and fit-out progressing accordingly.






The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (Enec) has achieved major milestones as it moves towards a new phase in the construction of units Three and Four at the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant which is more than 50 per cent complete.






Arab Center for Engineering Studies (ACES) said it has been awarded a major geotechnical investigation contract for the Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai. ACES is a provider of specialised engineering services in geotechnical engineering, material testing, environmental engineering, and land and marine surveying.






Mixed-use project for Dubai South A new multi-purpose development will be built on an area of 1.27 million sq ft in Dubai South, according to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Dubai South, the master developer of an emerging 145-sq-km masterplanned city around the new Al Maktoum International Airport, and Dubai-based developer Deyaar.






Dubai plans to build a new waterfront destination spread over 20 million sq ft that will boast the largest marina in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region. Called Dubai Harbour, the project is located on King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, between Jumeirah Beach Residence and Palm Jumeirah.






Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a 14-month contract to leading consulting and engineering group Systra and technical and management support services provider Aecom for the second and third phases of its Light Rail Transit system extension.






ABB, a leading Swiss power and automation technology group, has inaugurated its new 315-kW solar power plant, one of the largest of its kind in the region, in Dubai. The plant is located in the ABB offices at the Al Quoz industrial area and will produce electricity using solar energy.
