Infrastructural, real estate, tourism and industrial expansion will power the construction sector in Bahrain this year, as work on the country’s largest infrastructure project – the airport modernisation programme – reaches its halfway mark.
The Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning (MoWMAUP) is investing millions of dollars to expand Bahrain’s road network, and among its major projects on the anvil is the Fourth Crossing, which forms an extension of the Muharraq Ring Road scheme.
Construction activity at Diyar Al Muharraq, off the Muharraq coast, is moving at a steady pace. The basic infrastructure for most of the projects that were launched has been completed, while further infrastructural developments are set to be announced this year, Diyar Al Muharraq officials told Gulf Construction during a media tour of the site.

The Al Tijaria Tower in Hoora will soar to a height of 46 floors, making it one of the tallest residential buildings in the country.
