Alstom, a world leader in integrated transport systems headquartered in France, has achieved a major milestone for its Fast consortium with the launch of initial dynamic tests for the Riyadh Metro project, which boasts six lines totalling 176 km and 85 metro stations.






Saudia Cargo has recently signed agreements with three major companies to construct a new cargo handling facility at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah. Fawaz Al Fawaz, chairman of Saudia Cargo, and Omar Hariri, CEO of Saudia Cargo, signed the agreements during a ceremony.






Five international companies with expertise in digging canals are in the race for the 60-km-long Salwa canal project in Saudi Arabia, which will turn Qatar into an island, erasing the land border between the two Gulf states, said a report.






Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara) said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Veolia Middle East, a Paris-based group and world leader in industrial waste management, to construct a sustainable central utilities facility in PlasChem Park, an industrial park adjacent to the Sadara Chemical Complex.






Dow Chemical Company has announced the launch of its newly-built innovation centre located within the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Kaust) premises in Jeddah.






Lamprell, Asyad to set up JV  UAE-based Lamprell, a major provider of fabrication, engineering and contracting services, said it will join hands with Asyad Holdings to set up a joint venture company in the kingdom as part of its regional expansion strategy.
