Al Jubail United Petrochemical Company (United), a unit of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction for its ethylene glycol plant to Japanese firm Toyo Engineering Company. The company did not put a value on the contract.

The Jeddah authorities have signed contracts for six projects in the Jeddah governorate worth a total of SR514.44 million ($137 million).

Riyadh region Amir Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz has signed six contracts for water and drainage projects at a total cost of SR326.35 million ($87 million).

National Industrial Gases Company (GAS), an affiliate of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), has awarded a SR350 million ($93 million) lumpsum contract for construction of one of the world's largest air separation units to Linde AG of Germany. The unit will be constructed at Jubail and is scheduled for completion by late 2004.

France's Technip-Coflexip has been awarded a lumpsum turnkey contract by Saudi Aramco for the design and construction of a sulphur plant at the Riyadh refinery.

Tekla Middle East, a leading supplier of model-based operational software for the construction and energy sectors, is fast expanding its client base in Saudi Arabia, a company official said.
