A UAE manufacturer of insulated building materials extends its range of products with a new system which is said to be economical, lightweight and easy to install.

Conmix Limited, one of the leading readymixed concrete suppliers and the largest manufacturer of pre-mixed plasters and mortars in the UAE, was established in 1975 as a joint venture company by Bukhatir Investments, German Gulf Enterprises of the UAE and Karl Epple GmbH of Germany.

Pioneering insulation manufacturer Electronic and Engineering Industries (EEI) says it has witnessed increasing awareness in the UAE of the need to insulate following a series of seminars and an administrative decree issued by Dubai Municipality to promote the use of thermal insulation in buildings.

Rockwool is a product of smelting basalt rocks in kilns at temperatures reaching up to 1,400 deg C. The molten liquid is then poured in fast-rotating cylinders that spin at 4,000 rpm to produce fibres, which are collected, bonded together with special thermosetting resin and arranged in rolls and sheets of rockwool.
