Saudi Arabia donates $50m to Haiti

Saudi Arabia has donated $50 million in relief funding to Haiti following the earthquake that devastated the island two weeks ago.

The assistance was initiated by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and will be distributed through the fund established by the United Nations for Haiti.

'The kingdom's contribution to alleviate the suffering of the people of Haiti is in accordance with its historic policy of helping those in need. We hope that the people of Haiti will be able to overcome this tragedy and rebuild their nation,' said Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Saudi Ambassador to the US.-TradeArabia News Service
