Credit cardholders alerted on US transactions

Dubai, April 3, 2012

UAE residents who have used their credit or debit cards with a US-based trader last month have been advised to alert their banks about the transaction,  a report said.

The move follows the reported hacking of a processor's system, the Gulf News report said.

Global Payments, a third-party payments processor in the US has reported that it had suffered a serious security breach that may have exposed about 1.5 million cardholders to fraudulent charges.

Payments card security experts contacted by Gulf News advised everyone to constantly monitor their transactions, the report said.
