Bahrain ‘must invest in young people to prosper’

Bahrain must invest in its young people if it is to prosper in a post-oil world, a top UN official has warned. A relatively youthful population, reflected in a large share of working-age adults, means that the country can reap the benefits of what is known as a “demographic dividend” – but only if it acts now, UN Population Fund head Dr Babatunde Osotimehin told the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
