Bahrain King orders revamp of central bank board
MANAMA, May 5, 2020
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, today (May 5) issued a decree ordering the restructuring of the Central Bank of Bahrain's (CBB) board.
As per the decree, the appointment of Rasheed Mohamed Al Maraj as the Governor of Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), has been renewed for five more years, reported BNA.
CBB Board of Directors’ Chairman shall implement the decree, which takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette, it stated.
Hassan Khalifa Al Jalahma has been named the CBB Chairman, while the other board members are Yousef Abdullah Humoud, Khaled Ibrahim Humaidan, Youssef Abdulhussain Khalaf, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, and Ahmed Mohamed Buhejji as members.
As per the decree, the board members are being appointed for a renewable four-year term effective from the date of its issuance, it added.
