Taqdeer Award calls nomination applications
DUBAI, July 11, 2018
Taqdeer Award, which aims to set international benchmarks in labour welfare and honour excellence, has started to receive nomination applications from companies in the construction sector as well as from factories and Dubai free zones.
This forms the initial step of a long process culminating in announcing the winners of the third edition of Taqdeer Award 2018, the world’s first points-based award programme. The nomination process will continue through October 2018.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, the Taqdeer Award is a key initiative that makes significant contributions to the UAE’s efforts to enhance labour welfare practices.
The team of assessors will be scrutinising the applications received through the award’s website, in order to start evaluating them in two stages: the first will take the form of a desk evaluation, while the second will involve site visits with the aim to verify the accuracy of the information provided in the nomination applications.
The management of the award will present the results of the accurate and transparent evaluation of the competing companies' applications to its jury panel with a view to reviewing and endorsing the results, before finally forwarding them to the patron of the award, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for final endorsement.
Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, deputy director general, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai and chairman of Taqdeer Award, said: “The achievements made in the past two editions of the award have provided a quality addition to our wise government’s vision, which aims to build an inspiring model that lays the foundations for best of relations and promoting mutual interests between companies and workers.
