Saud Arabia announces $2.6bn road development projects

RIYADH, March 11, 2019

Prince Turki Bin Talal, the Emir of the Asir region of Saudi Arabia, has announced several infrastructure projects worth billions of dollars in the Jazan area besides the development of Abha Airport project and setting up of a 1,000-bed medical centre in Asir region.

This includes construction of the Asir-Jazan Road at a cost of SR6 billion ($1.59 billion) besides the expansion of the Jeddah-Jazan Coastal Road for SR4 billion ($1.06 billion) and the Abha Airport development project, reported Saudi Gazette.

These projects were unveiled by Prince Turki Bin Talal at a key ceremony held in the kingdom.

Also a 1,000-bed King Faisal Medical City is being set up in Asir. The facility boasts a specialised hospital, cardiac centre, tumor centre and a unit for neurological sciences, in addition to specialty centres for children from the Asir, Baha, Najran and Jazan regions, it added.
