
Qatar announces $5.2bn road, infrastructure projects

Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced plans to develop new road and infrastructure projects at an investment of QR18.8 billion ($5.2 billion) in new and existing sub-divisions across the country this year.
As per the infrastructure and road project plans for 2019, Ashghal said a total of 32 projects would be implemented in the existing and new subdivisions with a total budget of QR15.8 billion, while another QR3 billion will be spent on 23 projects that will focus on developing local roads.
"We are currently working on 14 projects worth QR6.5 billion that will cater to the residents of south Al wukair, Al Kharaitiyat, Izghawa, Al Ebb, Leabaib, Al Foroush, north Al Nasiriyah, west Al Mashaf and Muaither," stated its President Saad bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi.
Over the last two years, Ashghal has delivered 15 projects in 11 residential areas, including Al Wakra West, Rawdat Al Hamama, Al Mashaf East, and Al Wukair North in addition to road and drainage projects that ultimately intended to serve residents, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
