Top glass industry expo to kick off in Dubai in September
DUBAI, May 21, 2019
Gulf Glass, a leading glass industry event in the Middle East, will be back in Dubai this September alongside Windows, Doors & Facades Event (WDF), the region’s largest dedicated exhibition for the windows, doors and facades industry.
Both the exhibitions will kick off at the Dubai World Trade Centre from September 24 to 26 and run in parallel, providing industry professionals a unique platform to source innovative products from around the world, discover the latest technologies, network and learn, said the organisers dmg events.
Leading brands including Saint Gobain, BDF Industries, Henry F Teichmann, Horn Glass Industries, Bucher Emhart Glass, BASF, Forma Glass, and Lizmontagens have already confirmed their participation, they stated.
The move comes as industry reports forecast growing business opportunities in the Middle East.
According to a recent Meed Projects report, the value of construction projects across the GCC - either in the planning stage or in the delivery stage - is estimated at around $2.7 trillion.
Muhammed Kazi, the portfolio event director at dmg events, said: "The UAE is expected to witness the major growth in the container glass segment in the coming years, and huge opportunities emerge in the flat glass segment too thanks to its versatile application in the construction industry."
"The demand for green buildings, solar technologies, and eco-friendly facades innovations for both new and retrofit projects in the Middle East are opening a wealth of opportunities to both local and international manufacturers across the glass, windows, doors and facades industries," stated Kazi.
"In 2019, over 11,000 participants are expected to meet in Dubai at Gulf Glass and the co-located WDF, where more than 300 exhibiting brands will showcase their products," he noted.
The largest glass, windows, doors and facades industry gathering in the Middle East, will also offer a wide education agenda including free CPD-certified workshops delivered by industry experts across the three days, he added.
According to him, the educational sessions will include presentations on challenges in selecting the right glass solutions, managing the aesthetic of glass architecture, latest trends in the use of BIPV glass, energy saving solutions for the glass industry, and advances in smart glass and smart tinting technologies.
Dr Elmira Ryabova, the president, CEO, CTO and founder of the California-based Advenira Entreprises, is one of the confirmed speakers at Gulf Glass.
An industry leader with extensive experience in thin film technology, Dr Ryabova will be presenting a workshop on “Non-metallic Solar Heat Control Coating for Automotive and Architectural Glass” at the Dubai expo.
She is actively working with a number of top glass manufacturers across the world to enable affordable energy-saving window coating technology for modern architectural and automotive glass industries.
"We have developed UV- and abrasion-resistant solar heat control coating solutions for polycarbonate applications, such as sunroofs, aerospace, and railroads," stated Dr Ryabova.
"While most of these projects are well underway in Europe and Asia, we feel that the Middle East should be our main focus area to introduce non-metallic Solar Heat Control coatings," she added.
The expert said the UAE and its neighbours would find the Californian company's coatings extremely attractive, as there was no shortage of bright, hot sunny days throughout a year in the region.
"Partnerships in the production of energy saving windows, glass and polycarbonate to be supplied locally and globally is our primary goal," she added.
On the upcoming event, Dr Ryabova said: "We will be happy to share the accumulated knowledge and expertise in Solar Heat Control coatings with all the attendees, and hope that our unique and proprietary SDN technology will pave the way for environmentally friendly, energy efficient, and lower emission habitat for humankind."
Organised every two years by dmg events, Gulf Glass is a one-stop shop for all things glass. It hosts suppliers of finished products, glass production technology and machinery, glass processing and finishing solutions, measurement, testing and control technology, tools, replacements and spare parts, as well as auxiliary equipment and fitting.
The 2017 edition of the show had welcomed 5,500 participants besides over 140 exhibitors from 22 countries.-TradeArabia News Service
